In February, a training session took place in Porquerolles to form new whale-watching operators ! More skippers, captains ans volunters are now able to get the High quality WHale Watching label for the summer 2017 !

An ethical certification
The Mediterranean Sea did not escape from the development of the whale-watching activity. Based on this evidence, a certification of environmental excellence was created in 2014. Born from a collaboration between operators, scientists and NGOs, the High Quality Whale Watching® certification was elaborated to encourage a reasonable and sustainable whale-watching activity.
Watch and protect
Protecting implies understanding but how can one understand without observe? Whale-watching can be promising if deemed to be respectful for marine life. Its main asset lies in its awareness approach towards the general public and improves with its contribution to the acquisition of knowledge related to cetaceans which is necessary to implement adapted conservation measures.
